The 2011 event
On Saturday 18th June Greyfriars Opera plays host to a magical mid-summer evening of musical entertainment. This year’s programme features outstanding musical performers who will present a programme of popular operatic arias and songs from the shows.
Guests will be invited to stroll through the beautiful grounds of Greyfriars House and Abbey and choose a spot to enjoy a picnic. A bar will be provided by Winchelsea Farm Kitchen and a raffle with superb prizes will be drawn at the end of the performance.
Features of the 2011 event
Prices Held: Tickets will be priced at £35 – the same as in previous years.
Excellent Musical Performance: The 2011 performance will be bigger and better than ever before. On stage will be a total of 4 artists who between them have sung on some of the world’s most prestigious operatic stages, and won prizes at internationally recognised competitions. They will be supported by an orchestra who have played in the world’s top orchestras.
High Quality Staging and Sound: Guests will enjoy a high quality of staging and sound throughout the seating area.
Earlier Starting Time: In order to enjoy the concert before the evening chill sets in, we have brought the start time for the event forward by 1 hour to 5.30 pm with a finish time of 9.15 pm.
Longer Dining Interval: So that guests may enjoy a less rushed interval supper or drinks, we have increased the break in the programme to 1 hour 20 minutes.
